The next adverse effects of the coronavirus pandemic almost brought down wholesale prices for cereals.
When the prospect of quarantine measures loomed before the Russians, and this happened in early March, no one expected how long it could last and how it would end.
It is not surprising that such uncertainty prompted the population to rush purchases of food, primarily rice, buckwheat and flour.
Stores could not cope with the load — for some time we could observe half-empty, and sometimes completely empty shelves in stores.
Production had to hastily increase volumes: retail retail massively increased unplanned purchases.
For example, buckwheat production increased by 50%.
Experts recorded a global increase in retail prices with a slight increase in wholesale at that time.
So, for example, in March, the price of buckwheat in retail increased by 15% in 27 regions, and in the whole country the growth was 12%, rice — 6.1%.
Despite the increase in retail prices, the population formed food stocks, in particular cereals, for several months in advance.
The excitement was falling fast enough, as soon as buyers were convinced that there were no problems with the main categories of products.
And the accumulated stocks in both retail and production remained in large numbers.
At the moment, demand has turned out to be at a very low level: rush purchases have also affected, and the fact that in summer it is predictably reduced.
As a result — an unprecedented drop in prices for buckwheat, millet and rice.
The fastest-getting cheaper product is buckwheat .
Price dynamics now looks like this:
The week before last — “minus” 2 305 rubles.
Last week — “minus” 5 475 rubles.
Total for today I: 47 070 rubles, which, in principle, is quite good compared to the price of the previous year: 21 0376 rubles.
The next outsider is rice .

Last week — “minus” 2,265 rubles.

As a result of a significant fall in procurement prices, part of the plants suspended operations until a new crop was received.
At the same time, stocks in warehouses will be quite enough until the next harvesting harvest.
