The interim results of harvesting harvest in Russia show a third lag from last year.
General figures as of 07/13/2020. these are :
Cereals and legumes threshed from 7 million hectares, while the grain yield amounted to 22.9 million tons (yield 32.6 centners per hectare).
Wheat harvested from 5.4 million hectares, 18.1 million tons of threshed (yield 33.7 centner / ha).
Barley harvested from 856 thousand hectares with a result of 2.8 million tons (yield 32.6 centner / ha).
And although the Ministry of Agriculture itself does not provide a comparative analysis with the results of last year, the “Center for Agricultural Analytics” (located in the Ministry of Agriculture) gives the following figures on July 10 (compared with 2019):
Gross grain harvest — 9.3 million tons less.
Productivity — 32.3 centner / ha (2019 — 38.3 centner / ha).
Gross wheat harvest — 14.5 million tons (2019 — 24.4 million tons).
Average wheat yield — 33.3 centner / ha (2019 — 38.7 centner / ha).
Data from the same sources for average grain and leguminous crops :
Southern Federal District — “minus” 4.9 centner / ha
North Caucasus — “minus” 8.1 centner / ha
Gross tax :
South — minus 7.5 million tons
North Caucasus District — “minus” 1.3 million tons
Average drop in all directions from 15 to 40% .
The Stavropol Territory, which has suffered the most from adverse weather conditions, is approaching the end of the harvesting harvest.
Threshed 87% of the harvested area with the result of 4.5 million tons of gross grain harvest.
The expected yield is 5.7 million tons, of which 2.5 million tons will be used for domestic needs of the region, 500 thousand tons — for seeds, the rest is planned to be exported.
The Five of the leaders in gross grain harvest is :
Krasnodar Territory — 6 million tons of grain
Rostov Region — 5.1 million tons
Stavropol Territory — 4.5 million tons
Volgograd region — the first million tons were collected
Crimea — 436 thousand tons.
The Center and Volga Region joined the harvesting company, having threshed, respectively, 383.2 and 169.2 thousand tons of grain.
But forecasts of grain yield continue to decline: so far only the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia keeps the bar at 122.5 million tons.
The US Department of Agriculture lowered its forecast for wheat harvest by 0.5 million tons to 76.5 million tons, and the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) reduced its forecast from 78 million tons to 76.5 million tons (this is despite the fact that only last week it reduced its forecast from 79.5 to 78 million tons).
Recall that with a harvest of over 125 million tons, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia plans not to introduce additional export quotas in the fall of 2020.
