Krasnodar Region is a leader in the agro-industrial complex

The first rating of the regional performance in the agro-industrial complex for the 1st quarter of 2020 was presented.

The study was conducted by the Institute for Integrated Strategic Research (ICSI).

The rating was calculated based on the following indicators:

    1. Index of agricultural production and in what volume were shipped products of our own production.

What works and services were performed in the field of agriculture.

    2. How much loans were received by agriculture and food production, and the amount of overdue loans in these sectors.

State support, which was provided to the region and the percentage of the use of federal budget funds.

The number of concluded agricultural insurance contracts and the amount of the premium.

    3. Average monthly wages of employees, the level of profitability of goods, products, works and services sold.

The number of peasant farms (PFs) registered as of April 1, 2020, as well as their growth.

    4. The volume of exports of agricultural raw materials and food, and the number of countries exporting products from the region, the range of exports, the share of processed products in it.

The assessment was made for each indicator on a 100-point scale and then summed up using a special formula for normalization.

The leaders are:

Krasnodar Territory — 100 points

Moscow — 89.6 points

Voronezh region — 84 points

Next come:

Tatarstan — 77.66 points

Belgorod region — 73.65 points

Rostov region — 73.18 points

Samara region — 70.5 points

Moscow region — 69.83 points

Kaliningrad region — 68.3 points

Kursk region — 66.86 points.

The worst result was shown by the Jewish Autonomous Region , not gaining a single point.

The fact that Moscow has become one of the leaders is not surprising, as many legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture are registered in it.

It took one of the first places in the export of agricultural products, as well as the first place in the number of collected premiums for agricultural insurance.

But the fact that large agricultural regions, such as Stavropol Territory, Bryansk, Oryol, Lipetsk and Kaluga regions, did not enter the top ten, speaks of the productivity of their agricultural activities.

The lowest foreign trade indicator was shown by the Republic of Sakha, which in the first quarter did not ship anything for export, although in the previous year it supplied alcoholic beverages to Latvia.

Leaders of agricultural insurance: Krasnodar Territory and Moscow in terms of premiums, Chuvashia — in terms of the number of contracts concluded, Samara and Irkutsk regions — by the growth of premiums and the number of contracts.

Agriculture is one of the key areas of the economy, but its state and dynamics in different regions are fundamentally different.

The ICSI rating allows you to track the efficiency of an agro-industrial region, taking into account various factors, and not focus only on gross indicators, which often depend on weather and climatic conditions.
