There will be no shortage of raw materials

This year, Russian farmers can harvest more than 21.5 million tons of oilseeds.

Farmers will be able to obtain such results, despite the difficult weather conditions that follow them throughout the current year.

Regions that will receive a significantly lower harvest compared to last year (South of Russia) will support the Central and Volga Federal Districts — a record harvest awaits here.

If we talk about the harvest of oilseeds as a whole, then the sunflower «sagging» in terms of indicators will tighten the rapeseed, which is planned to be harvested more than usual.

As a result, only a 10% drop in yield is expected.

At the same time, domestic exporters plan to receive about 4.4 billion dollars from the sale of oilseeds.

The results of shipments of previous years show the following dynamics:

2018 — 2.26 million tons

2019 — 3.4 million tons

2020 (estimated) 8.6 million tonnes with 5.7% less projected harvest.

Exports of fat and oil products in the first half of 2020 increased by 31% to $ 2.5 billion.

At the same time, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture assured that the capacities of oil refineries will be fully utilized and there will be no shortage of raw materials.

Moreover, the emphasis on increasing exports of oilseeds processing products remains a priority.

To achieve these goals, the state planned to spend 30 million rubles to support exports in general, simplifying, in addition, lending for exporters of fat and oil products.

According to the analytical platform Logistic OS from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020, the export of vegetable oils only increased by 21.2%: from 2 003 thousand tons to 2,428 thousand tons.

As before, China remains the main importer of oilseeds, which tripled purchases over this period — to $ 577 million.

Almost half of the shipped volume fell on sunflower oil: $ 282 million, having increased supplies by 3.8 times.

Also the «five» leaders included Turkey, Iran, India and Egypt.

According to the agro-industrial complex development plans, export of oilseeds within the next four years should reach 33.6 million tons.
