Agroholding Steppe, which is one of the ten largest landowners in Russia, showed the maximum revenue in August.
We are talking about the amount of 11.3 billion rubles. This is the maximum monthly value in the entire history of the company, the press service said.
Moreover, in August 2021, the holding received more revenue than in all 12 months of 2017.
The main reason for this success was the development of the agricultural holding in all directions at once. He has a lot of them:
Crop production.
Dairy farming.
Gardening.
Sugar production.
The main drivers in the current season were the first two directions.
In addition, the company is actively increasing its land fund: this year it has increased by 578 thousand hectares.
Finally, in the current season, the wheat harvest also turned out to be a record one and amounted to 1 million tons. This was largely achieved due to the fact that about 250 thousand hectares were allocated for winter crops.
As for dairy farming, the company has about 7,000 head of cattle. For the first quarter of this year, the total milk yield amounted to at least 20 thousand tons of milk.
Will high prices on the world market help farmers?
As for the price of wheat and other agricultural products, it is the highest today.
But, as noted by Dmitry Rylko, Director General of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, high revenue does not mean high profit.
According to him, good profitability is currently maintained in the south of the country, while in other regions (the center, the Volga region, the Urals), everything is far from so positive.
And the southern regions are gradually turning from generators of super-profits in the field of agriculture into “just successful regions”.
The reason for this is the changing climate, which from year to year causes more and more arid weather in the south of the country.
Of course, the duties established by the government of the Russian Federation, which are currently actively growing, also contributed to the shortfall in profit by the farmers.
At the same time, as noted by the vice-president of the Russian Grain Union Alexander Korbut, high prices for agricultural products are unlikely to decrease significantly in the near future . This means that manufacturers will still be able to generate good revenue.
At the same time, one should not delude oneself with large numbers: the world today has maximum inflation rates, which is caused by the pandemic and its consequences.
Therefore, the best that agricultural producers can count on is that they will be able to buy fertilizers for the next season, as well as at least partially update their equipment.
