The annual quota for the export of grain from Russia came into force on February 15, 2022

Analysis of the dynamics of trade turnover of Russian ports based on the data of the analytical platform Logistic OS.

From February 15, 2022 to June 30, 2022, the grain export quota will be 11 million tons, of which:

8 million tons — wheat

3 million tons — rye, barley and corn.

A separate quota for wheat was introduced in 2022 for the first time.

According to analysts, the nature of the distribution of quotas (each of the quotas is distributed among certain companies) will not allow exporting the full volume.

The main problem is that a sufficiently large number of companies received small volumes (for example, several tons or a kilogram of barley, corn and rye), which raises questions from the economic point of view.

And in aggregate, quotas of this size add up to a decent amount.

The experts suggested that, next year, it would be correct to introduce a lower threshold value for the quota — the minimum shipload.

From July 1, 2021 to February 10, 2022, Russia exported 26 million tons of grain, which is 28.5% less than the same period of the last agricultural year.

For the first half of 2021/22 SG, the volumes of shipments of the port of Rostov-on-Don decreased by 33%:
