Russia in 2021 became the world’s largest exporter of wheat

Our country holds the world market leadership for the sixth year in a row.

During 2021, Russia exported 31.3 million tons of wheat (according to the Logistic OS analytical platform).

 

 

The results of the closest competitors were much more modest:

Australia – more than 26 million tons

USA– 24 million tons

Canada – 22 million tons

Ukraine — 20 million tons.

Wheat shipments by months:

 

 

August shipments of more than 5 million tons were the third largest in history and a record since 1985.

TOP 5 exported grains and legumes:

 

 

37.7% of exported wheat (11 695 thousand tons) were shipped through Novorossiysk, the largest port in the South of Russia.

 

 

2 401 thousand tons of wheat (7.7%) were sent abroad by rail

22.9% of the wheat (6 027 thousand tons) exported from Russia was exported by TD Rif LLC.

 

 

TOP-10 wheat exporters:

 

 

Turkey became the largest importer of wheat (6 818 thousand tons).

 


TOP 10 wheat importing countries:

 

 

An important event already in 2022 was the abolition of the principle of regionalization of spring wheat and barley to China.

The import of grain into China is allowed throughout Russia.

 

Data on current shipments in the ports of Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania, historical data on shipments of grain since 2012 can be generated on the basis of the analytical platform Logistic OS
