China is actively developing technologies to increase grain yields

This year, China plans to harvest 694 million tons of grain. In many ways, this should become possible thanks to the widespread introduction of new technologies.

Over the past 8 years, the harvest in China has constantly been above 650 million tons, which can be considered a very good result.

However, the harvest volume is still insufficient, since China is still the largest food importer.

And in order for the country to be as powerful as possible, independence from food imports is the most important point, Chinese experts are convinced. Therefore, we need to continue moving in this direction.

Chinese scientific stations make a great contribution to the development of the agro-industrial complex

Like most other modern countries, the PRC is faced with the problem of “brain drain” from small villages to big cities.

As a result, agriculture was left without young specialists who would help find solutions to increase production productivity.

However, in the PRC this problem has been largely solved thanks to scientific stations, of which there are several thousand in the country. They are created directly “in the fields”, and young scientists work there, solving the most pressing problems of farmers.

Numerous technologies are being developed — and, very importantly, immediately implemented — that can increase productivity and at the same time reduce production costs.

For example, the technology of joint cultivation of rice and ducks is currently being actively implemented, which has already allowed many farmers to increase the profitability of one hectare by an average of $6,700.

The bottom line is that duck excrement serves as a natural fertilizer for rice, and in addition, the birds destroy pests, which reduces the consumption of chemicals to combat them and increases the environmental friendliness of the product.

In addition, much attention is paid to production mechanization.

At the moment, about 73% of all production has already been mechanized, which allows us to obtain consistently high results in the field of agriculture from year to year.

China develops rural infrastructure

This is also an absolutely necessary component in order to increase the volume of harvested crops.

China is making large investments, for example, in the construction of highways: over the past year, about 180 thousand kilometers were built and repaired.

It is expected that this will improve the accessibility of many agricultural areas of the country, as well as reduce producers’ costs on logistics, which can also have a positive impact on margins.
