Russia increases grain exports

During July-October of this year, Russian farmers sent about 26.5 million tons of grain abroad.

This is 32% more than in the same period last year, experts say.

This suggests that Russia has largely restored its exports, having learned to overcome the various restrictions that it had to face recently.

Corn exports increased multiple

In particular, corn exports increased 4 times.

If in July-October last season 292 thousand tons were exported, then this time — 1.12 million tons.

Experts say that this increase in volumes is largely due to the fact that Russia is replacing supplies of Ukrainian grain.

According to the latest data, Ukraine’s corn export potential has decreased by 30%, amounting to 8.5 million tons.

Among the main buyers of Russian corn was Iran, which increased supplies by 7 times.

In second place is Turkey, it purchased 4.6 times more corn from Russia than last season.

Also among the significant buyers of this agricultural crop areVietnamandChina.

By the way, the corn harvest in the Russian Federation this year may turn out to be very good. For example, the Rusagrotrans analytical center increased its forecast for this crop to 17.6 million tons.

Moreover, this is despite the fact that there was a reduction in sown areas compared to last year.

This is explained by the fact that in some regions, in particular in the Central Federal District, corn yields have increased significantly: up to 8.7 tons per hectare.

This is significantly higher than the average value of 6-7 thousand tons, which agricultural producers are accustomed to focusing on.

In general, analysts expect that the grain harvest in Russia this time will be at the level of 145 million tons, of which about 93 million tons could be wheat. At the same time, various analytical agencies continue to raise their forecasts.

China began buying Russian peas

In July-October this year, China purchased 675 thousand tons of peas from the Russian Federation.

This is a large volume, especially considering that last season this item was not exported at all: the current season was the first when China opened its market to Russian peas.

In total, Russia exported about 1.6 million tons of peas.

Taking into account the fact that now there is a large buyer in the person of China, the potential for growth in exports of this agricultural crop is very large, and in the next seasons we will certainly see significant growth.
