Russia is significantly increasing exports of agricultural products

As Vladimir Putin said at the G20 summit, Russia continues to be a reliable supplier of agricultural products and energy, which is especially important in an unstable world.

The Russian President noted that there is now great turbulence on the planet, including in financial markets, and there is a threat to food and energy security.

In such conditions, Russia takes on the role of a reliable supplier. At the same time, the focus is shifting from Western countries to developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, as consumption and demand are growing there.

As for Russian grain supplies to Africa, they are actively increasing.

During the summit, Putin mentioned that right now 2 ships with Russian grain are heading to African ports, and this delivery is free.

We are talking about supplying about 200 thousand tons of Russian wheat to the poorest African countries, whose populations are experiencing food shortages, which will make a significant contribution to solving the problem of hunger in this region.

India is becoming a major importer of Russian agricultural products

In January-October this year, exports of such products to India increased 2.5 times and amounted to about 964 thousand tons.

In monetary terms, supplies increased by 51%. Currently, India is in ninth place among buyers of Russian agricultural products, this is a fairly significant increase in position.

Last year, India was in 11th place in this ranking.

In particular, this country actively purchases sunflower oil from the Russian Federation.

For 8 months of this year, the volume of supplies amounted to 730 thousand tons, which is 2.4 times higher than the same figure for last year.

In addition, India has become the largest buyer of Russian goods such as soybean oil. In January-October, its supplies increased to 170 thousand tons, which is 3.5 times more than in January-October 2022.

Russia shows good export results

It is planned that this year supplies of agricultural products abroad may exceed $45 billion, says the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev.

It is even possible that the final result will be even higher than this value.

At the same time, the export volume could be even greater, but currently it is being reduced by the established low world prices for agricultural products.

However, exports will actively occur despite them, many experts believe.

At the same time, duties may slow down this process a little, but they do not apply to all types of agricultural products.
