Russia is actively increasing grain exports

The leader in the field of grain exports has changed in Russia. Instead of TD «RIF», the company Green Gates rose to first place, «RIF» dropped to second place.

Experts note that in the second half of 2023, Green Gates exported 6.3 million tons of grain. This is a significant increase from last year, when the company delivered 7.95 million tonnes for the full year.

In third place in the list of leaders in sales of Russian grain abroad is the Aston company, its result is 2.7 million tons. Next comes the Export MZK — the result of this company is 1.5 million tons. OZK closes the TOP-5 leaders with a result of 1.3 million tons.

According to analysts, grain exports currently maintain their high profitability.

Moreover, there is now an increasing shortage of grain in the world, which may cause prices to rise in the near future. Of course, this will be a favorable event for exporting companies.

What is preventing active grain exports?

The RIF company had to deal with unfavorable weather conditions in the ports of the Caucasus, which led to the fact that export figures were less significant than they could have been.

At the same time, due to weather conditions, ships have to sit in ports for a long time and pay fines for this, which results in additional costs for companies.

In addition, in recent years, due to sanctions, we have had to face more significant difficulties: changing key importers, insurance, and paying for cargo. But at the moment all these difficulties have been largely overcome.

In general, Rusagrotrans has calculated that the total grain exports from Russia to all countries, including the EAEU countries, should be about 36 million tons.

At the same time, the following countries are currently on the list of key buyers: Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Algeria, Bangladesh.

However, these are only key buyers, but since the beginning of 2023, Russia has exported its grain to more than 100 different countries, according to Roselkhoznadzor.

“Since the beginning of 2023, the Institution’s laboratories have tested 60.2 million tons of exported grain products for compliance with the requirements of importing countries, while shipments of Russian grain and its processed products have been carried out to 100 countries of the world,” noted the director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Grain Quality Assessment” Ruslan Khasanov.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, said that at the end of the season, the Russian Federation can export about 65 million tons of grain, which will be a noticeable result and will bring significant revenue to the federal budget.
