A Chinese company is expected to set up a direct trade agro-industrial park in Pakistan in the near future.
China is interested in expanding agricultural trade with other countries, including Pakistan.
There are plans to set up a China-Pakistan agro-industrial park and launch a cross-border e-commerce platform.
This should help increase trade volumes and make the process more convenient for both sides.
“Our goal is to create a two-way corridor for agricultural trade that will benefit both countries.
Using our expertise in agricultural inputs and digital platforms, we aim to support Pakistani farmers while delivering high-quality Pakistani products to Chinese consumers,” said Ken Liu, director of cross-border e-commerce at Feiduoduo.
The company supplies, among other things, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. Pakistan is currently considered one of the most promising markets.
After all, the demand for fertilizers in this country is quite high and exceeds 10 million tons per year.
It is emphasized that small and medium-sized farmers especially need to increase fertilizer supplies, and these are the opportunities that are opening up for Chinese suppliers.
Pakistan is also a promising market for fertilizer supplies due to the fact that agriculture provides almost a quarter of the country’s GDP.
However, the development of the agro-industrial sector in Pakistan faces several obstacles at once, including limited access to inexpensive resources, complex supply chains, and high costs of product distribution.
In this regard, there is hope that the introduction of innovative methods offered by the Chinese company will unite suppliers with distributors and thus solve a significant part of the existing problems.
However, Pakistan needs to do additional work to ensure that most residents have access to the Internet. So far, it is absent in some areas, and the Chinese company is thinking about how to ensure the operation of the digital platform in offline mode.
While supplying fertilizers and pesticides to Pakistan, China is also planning to purchase some types of agricultural products from this country.
In particular, these are corn, dairy products, beef, cherries, chili, and sesame.
