Russia increases exports of agricultural products with high added value

According to experts, the structure of Russian agricultural exports has been changing recently: deep processing products account for an increasing share of it.

During 2025, the export of finished meat products increased by 15% compared to the results of 2024.

The volume of pasta exports also increased by 23%, ice cream by 40%, beer by 20%, coffee by 70%, wine by 20%, and strong alcohol by 40%.

All this indicates that Russia is gradually moving away from the raw materials export model and switching to a model of trading significant volumes of expensive deep processing products, which brings much more profit.

Experts believe that meat product exports are especially worth noting. Currently, in value terms, they already exceed $ 1 billion per year, and the figure continues to grow.

Poultry exports increased by 30%, pork by 75%. This indicates that Russia has made a significant step towards ensuring its complete self-sufficiency in all types of food products.

True, there is still a lag in the dairy farming sector. In this regard, the Russian market is still working mainly to cover its own needs.

As for increasing exports, this is more of a task for tomorrow than for today. Nevertheless, over the past year, dairy product deliveries abroad have grown by 13%, and cheese, cottage cheese, yogurts and kefir by 20%.

Russia is not going to stop there and will most likely continue to increase the rate of agricultural exports, analysts emphasize. However, in order to continue moving along this path, a number of emerging difficulties must be overcome.

In particular, it is necessary to resolve issues with the certification of supplied goods, as well as with their promotion in foreign markets, where, among other things, there is competition with other suppliers.

In addition, an important component of success is the debugging of logistics. For example, meat and dairy products require transportation in a special temperature regime.

At the same time, the Russian government is making efforts to help farmers promote their products to foreign markets and gain a foothold there.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to provide maximum assistance to farmers in this area — in particular, to conduct targeted work with each exporting company to help the market achieve established indicators for export volumes.
