Russia is increasing agricultural production

According to the latest data, overall agricultural production increased by 2% in the first nine months of this year.

Rosstat reports that agricultural production in Russia grew by 4% in September, reaching a high of 2.25 trillion rubles.

Experts believe that the current year is showing very positive dynamics, especially when compared with the previous year. After all, agricultural production decreased by 2.1% in the first nine months of 2024, and fell by 0.3% in September 2024.

Thus, we see that last year’s negative trend has been reversed.

Harvest data for Russia’s main agricultural crops for the current year is now available.

For example, the grain harvest totaled 121 million tons. This is a significant achievement, as this result exceeds last year’s level by almost 10%.

As for sugar beets, 19 million tons were harvested. This is 13% higher than last year’s figure.

Potato harvests were 8% higher than in 2024, as were vegetable harvests. The respective harvest volumes were 16 million tons and 10 million tons.

Sunflower harvests are showing a negative trend. 8 million tons were harvested in 2025. This is a significant decrease compared to the previous season: approximately 10%.

Experts note that this could be due to drought in the southern regions of Russia, which produce a significant share of this crop in Russia.

At the same time, specialists note that approximately 90% of Russia’s grain harvest has been completed. Therefore, the data obtained is not final and may be increased.

This means that the actual figures will likely be higher than those already available.

It is also significant that Russia has recorded an increase in yields. For example, grain yields increased by 5 centners per hectare, reaching 35 centners.

Wheat yields also increased by 5 centners per hectare, reaching 38 centners.

Livestock producers are also showing relatively good results. According to available data, livestock and poultry production increased by 0.3% in the first nine months of 2025, reaching 12 million tons.

Milk production also increased by 0.3%, reaching 26 million tons.

Egg production showed the most impressive results, increasing by 4% to 36.5 billion eggs.

However, beef production fell by 4%, to 817,000 tons.

Experts note that over the first nine months of this year, Russian producers sold 45 million tons of grain, 10 million tons of meat, and 16 million tons of milk.
