PJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (PJSC NCSP) is the third largest port operator in Europe in terms of cargo turnover and the largest in Russia.
The company’s assets include the port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea, the port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea, and the port of Baltiysk in the Kaliningrad region.
The company’s published data on consolidated cargo turnover for the period January — June 2020 showed a decrease of 9.4% compared to the same period in 2019.
The total cargo turnover amounted to 62.7 million tons.
The main drop is observed in the segment of liquid, general and container cargo.
Transshipment of liquid cargo — 50.8 million tons (- 8.9%).
Crude oil turnover had a significant impact on the figures, which amounted to 5.8 million tons, down 15.5%.
The fall is due to global trends against the backdrop of the COVID — 19 pandemic.
At the same time, the transshipment of light oil products increased in this segment — 1.2 million tons (+ 8.2%).
