A plant for deep processing of grain will be built in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

It is planned that the construction of the facility will be completed by 2023. In total, it is planned to spend up to 30 billion rubles on the project.

The project will be implemented by Sibagro Biotech JSC in close cooperation with the regional government. According to Governor Alexander Uss, the Krasnoyarsk Territory has great prospects for the development of the agro-industrial complex — the Territory has already demonstrated the best yield indicators in the country. Therefore, we decided to approach this issue seriously by building a complex capable of processing up to 250 thousand tons of grain per year. And this is about 17% of the harvest volume that the region is capable of producing. In the future, the plant’s capacity is expected to be doubled.

Construction is planned in the Sharypovsky district, because there is always a surplus of grain, and in addition, there are powerful sources of electricity and personnel that can be used in production. In total, it is planned to create at least 500 jobs.

What will the new plant produce?

Not flour, as one might think. We are talking about the production of more complex products:

— Gluten.

— Lysine.

— Feed yeast.

— Biodegradable plastic.

As for the first three types of products, all of it goes mainly to the production of feed for livestock. For some items (for example, lysine), Russia has not yet switched to self-sufficiency (production covers only 70% of the demand). The Krasnoyarsk plant will allow in the near future to stop depending on imports, and moreover, to switch to export.

In general, the entire project is largely focused on sales abroad: with its help, it is planned to increase the export of agricultural products from the Krasnoyarsk Territory by 2.6 times by 2024 and reach the level of 48 million dollars a year.

As for biodegradable plastic, this is very important today due to the active pollution of the planet with ordinary plastic. However, in Russia this is know-how, because so far nothing of the kind has been produced on an industrial scale in the country. It is planned that the Krasnoyarsk plant will be the first to offer the Russians environmentally friendly packaging and clothing.

The latest agreements are currently being signed to begin the implementation of this ambitious project. Despite the huge costs, the initiators have an intention to recoup them quickly enough due to the high profit from export.
