June 1-15, 2021. Results of Russian grain exports

Experts predict record shipments of wheat.

On June 2, 2021, a “floating” duty on wheat began to operate in Russia, which ultimately decreased significantly in relation to the applicable tariffs before that date.

Against the background of this decline, after the minimum shipments in May, from June 1 to June 15, 2021, Russia sent 1,174 thousand tons of wheat abroad through seaports.

Thus, since the beginning of the 2020/21 agricultural year, Russia has exported 34 859 thousand tons of wheat through seaports, which, according to all forecasts, will be the second result after the record 2017/18.

Egypt and Turkey remain the main importing countries this season.

At the same time, Egypt entered the first line of the rating, having increased imports by 43%.

2019/20

For supplies to countries such as Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia occupies a high share: from 63% to 91%.

After a five-year hiatus, shipments to Pakistan resumed, which allowed Russia to immediately take a 38% share of imported wheat.

Bangladesh has been importing 1.9-2 million tons of wheat from Russia for five years, which is 28% of the import of this crop.

In general, 46 604 thousand tons of grain crops have been exported through the seaports of Russia since the beginning of the agricultural year.

Russia has come to the end of the 2020/21 agricultural year with very high indicators of both the harvested crop and exports.

For the last week of June, the wheat export duty is set at $ 38.1 per tonne.
