Kuban completed harvesting of grain and leguminous crops with new records

The high harvest affected the pricing policy — selling prices are falling.

If in January 2021 the price reached 17-18 thousand rubles per ton, now it is 11-12 thousand rubles, a maximum of 13 thousand from the spot.

The trend is absolutely natural: more supply on the market — lower price.

At the same time, the profitability of production decreases: large volumes must be processed, transported, stored — more costs.

The introduced «floating» duties will not add profits to farmers.

An additional financial burden on agricultural producers is imposed by one and a half to two times more expensive fertilizers and rising fuel prices.

And although the rise in fertilizer prices is a consequence of high world inflation and rising world prices, in the future this may lead to a decrease in acreage, a decrease in the amount of fertilizer applied and the bankruptcy of small farms.

In the Kuban, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, is personally involved in solving the problem of rising prices for fertilizers.

What about the quality of the grain obtained?

To date, more than 5 million tons of grain have been examined, of which 98% is grain of the fourth, third and second class, 2% is fodder.

In total, the region harvested 12.4 million tons of grain crops in 2021 — 1.28 million more than the record year of 2019.

Winter wheat harvested 10.542 million tons, harvesting was carried out on 1.9 million hectares.

The average yield of cereals and legumes in 2021 amounted to 60.1 centners per hectare — 11.7 centners more than in 2020.

Average wheat yield amounted to 62.7 centners per hectare — 13.3 centners per hectare more than in 2020.

Taking into account the fact that the Krasnodar Territory annually consumes about 3 million tons of grain per year, about 8 million tons are planned to be exported.

And although grain is the main export product of the agro-industrial complex of the Kuban, the region sends abroad more than 170 types of agricultural products.

40% of grain exports go to Turkey and Egypt.

In total, 8.3 billion rubles will be allocated to the agrarians of the region under the program of state support for agriculture in 2021.
