As of November 28, Russian agricultural exports in 2021 reached $ 31.2 billion.
This is a new all-time all-time record.
Such data are provided by the federal center «Agroexport» under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Last year, the volume of Russian exports amounted to $ 30.5 billion.
And if we compare this year with the past, then the growth was as much as 21%: as of November 28, 2020, the volume of Russian exports of agricultural products amounted to $ 25.9 billion.
What is Russia selling?
First of all, this is grain. Its share in the structure of Russian exports is about one third.
Grain generated revenue of $ 9.42 billion this year. In monetary terms, this is 10% more than a year ago (+8.57 billion dollars).
Although wheat occupies the lion’s share in grain exports, other crops — buckwheat and millet — showed the largest increase in volumes.
The oil and fat sector also grew significantly: + 49%. In monetary terms, this is an increase from $ 4.16 to $ 6.19 billion.
Export of meat grew by 30%, in first of all beef and dairy products. The increase was immediately 30%: from 1.02 to 1.33 billion dollars.
The volume of export of fish and seafood also increased approximately the same way: + 29%, from 4.73 to 6.08 billion dollars.
As you can see, almost all key segments of the agro-industrial complex demonstrated growth.
Who is Russia selling agricultural products to?
The top 10 countries are as follows:
European Union.
Turkey.
China.
South Korea.
Kazakhstan.
Egypt.
Belarus.
Ukraine.
Uzbekistan.
Azerbaijan.
The EU remains the main importer.
Over the past year, export volumes there increased by 44%: from $ 2.9 to $ 4.2 billion. Turkey added 36%: from 2.77 to 3.76 billion dollars.
But the volume of imports from China fell by 11%: from $ 3.57 to $ 3.17 billion.
At the same time, one of the main factors that made it possible to achieve such impressive results is the rise in food prices in the world, as well as inflation of major currencies.
For example, according to the message of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), only in one October of this year, food prices in the world increased by an average of 3%.
This rise in price is especially noticeable in the market for grain and vegetable oils.
Taking all this into account, Russia has opportunities for further building up agricultural exports.
As noted earlier by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, the total volume of Russian exports of agricultural products in 2021 may reach 34-35 billion dollars.
If this figure is not achieved in the current year, then with a high probability Russia will be able to achieve it in the future.
After all, the fact that food prices will stop growth, while nothing portends.
