According to the latest data, agricultural production in Russia increased by approximately 3% over the first 10 months of this year.
Experts are confident that this figure will show positive growth by the end of this year compared to the previous year.
It is expected to reach approximately 9.8 trillion rubles, a significant figure. In October 2025 alone, agricultural production in Russia amounted to approximately 1.5 trillion rubles, a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
As of November 1, 2025, harvesting had been completed on 97% of all sown areas. Therefore, it can be said that the harvesting campaign is almost complete.
Russian farmers have demonstrated good harvest results for most crops, according to analysts.
Including approximately 130 million tons of grain, this represents an 8% increase compared to last year.
Sunflower harvests totaled 14 million tons, while sugar beets were harvested at approximately 36 million tons, remaining virtually unchanged.
Potato harvests reached nearly 19 million tons, a 9% increase compared to last year. Vegetable harvests fell 2% to 13 million tons.
According to experts, this year was generally challenging for farmers due to the challenging weather conditions experienced by many regions of the country in the first half of the year.
Despite this, agricultural producers managed to recover their losses and ultimately posted excellent results.
«I didn’t expect such a growth rate at the end of the year and thought that by the end of 2025, agricultural production would at best reach zero or at most increase by 1%.
«However, the situation has not only leveled off, but actually improved,» says Georgy Ostapkovich, Research Director of the Center for Market Research at the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
Overall, livestock farmers are also showing good results for the year. The cattle population was approximately 16 million as of November, a 4% decline.
However, over the first 10 months of this year, approximately 13.4 million tons of meat, 29 million tons of milk, and 40 billion eggs were produced. Experts note that we are seeing positive trends in all these indicators.
Experts believe that agricultural production in Russia could increase by an average of 2.5% by the end of this year.
This will allow the country to fully meet its own needs for virtually all major food products and create potential for exports.
