Primorsky Krai is developing agricultural exports to China

This region takes full advantage of its geographic proximity to China, steadily increasing its agricultural exports to that country.

Experts note that exports are currently one of the key drivers of Primorsky Krai’s successful development.

The region currently cooperates with over 100 countries, of which China is, of course, one of the most important. This is due both to its geographical location and, of course, to the strength of the Chinese economy, which is currently one of the strongest in the world.

For this reason, it’s not surprising that 70% of Primorsky Krai’s trade comes from China. Moreover, trade volumes are set new records almost every year.

For example, 2024 saw a result of $7.5 billion, a significant achievement. Analysts predict that 2025 could see further growth of approximately 16% from these figures.

The most important exports from Primorsky Krai to China today are fish and agricultural products in general, as well as fertilizers and metals.

In recent years, there has been a trend toward Russia shifting from raw materials to finished goods with high added value.

Specifically, agricultural product exports have recently been focused on soybeans, corn, and honey. For example, Primorsky Krai farmers are prepared to export up to 400,000 tons of soybeans and up to 450,000 tons of corn to China annually.

As for honey, experts note that its exports to China could increase to 12,000 tons by 2030.

In addition to fish, legumes, and honey, the region also plans to increase its exports of other goods to China. These include, for example, bioadditives and livestock feed.

The region is making significant efforts to ensure that trade with China is more robust and free of obstacles.

For example, an export support center has been established, providing comprehensive assistance to local businesses seeking to export their goods.

Furthermore, exhibitions of Primorsky Krai products are regularly held in China, allowing Chinese entrepreneurs to learn about them and encourage them to begin purchasing.

It is expected that these, along with various other measures taken by the regional government, will contribute to even closer cooperation between Primorsky Krai and China in the foreseeable future.
