Russia has demonstrated an increase in grain and legume harvests

According to the latest data, the total harvest volume of these crops in 2025 was 141 million tons. This is significantly higher than the previous year’s figure of 126 million tons.

Rosstat recently updated its data on the grain and legume harvest in 2025.

The final figure was 141 million tons, down from the 139 tons the agency had recently forecast. This result is likely final and is unlikely to be revised.

Wheat, meanwhile, has shown very good results. Its harvest in 2025 was 91 million tons, up from 83 million tons the year before.

As for barley, its harvest was 20 million tons, up from 17 million.

Corn is also impressive: the final harvest of this crop in the country is 15 million tons, down from 14 million tons the year before.

It is emphasized that these figures are calculated without taking into account new regions of Russia, many of which are capable of making a significant contribution to agricultural production.

Some other crops performed worse this time than the previous year.

For example, approximately 926,000 tons of buckwheat were harvested, down from 1.2 million tons in 2024.

The rye harvest also fell slightly: from 1.17 million tons to 1 million.

Approximately 3 million tons of oats were harvested. This figure remained virtually unchanged from 2024.

The situation with millet is similar: its production increased only slightly, from 324,000 tons to 352,000 tons.

Pulses are also showing excellent results. In 2024, Russian farmers managed to harvest approximately 5.4 million tons of these crops, including 3.8 million tons of peas.

Compared to these figures, we see impressive growth in 2025. Approximately 5.7 million tons of peas were harvested, and the total pulse harvest is almost 8 million tons.

This is a very good result, a record for the past several years, according to experts.

Potatoes are also showing good growth. While the total potato harvest in the country was 18 million tons in 2024, this figure has increased to 19.5 million tons in 2025.

Outdoor vegetable production increased slightly: from 13.8 million tons to 14 million tons.

Therefore, it can be confidently stated that farmers have achieved impressive results in 2025.

These results will ensure the country’s food security in most areas, and in many areas, experts report, extensive export opportunities are also opening up.
