Export grain market. September. What’s the bottom line?

We analyze export shipments of grain and leguminous crops based on the platform Logistic OS.

Russia continues to rapidly increase its grain exports.

In September 2020, according to the analytical platform Logistic OS, 5,387 thousand tons of pulses were shipped.

This is 16.32% more than in the same period last year.

Such indicators are due not only to a large harvest, but also to the high quality of grain, especially in the center and south of Russia. And, in spite of everything, at a lower price than the competition.

Exports of wheat increased by 22%, which amounted to 4,765 thousand tons.

Wheat took up 88.5% of the total. In 2019, this figure was 84.5%.

The maximum amount of grain and legumes was exported through the terminals of Novorossiysk. At the same time, the volume of shipments increased by 16.7%, reaching 1,909 thousand tons.

Rostov terminals have significantly increased their indicators: up to 1,081 thousand tons — and this is a 69.7% increase to last year.

TOP-10 exporters is as follows:

LLC Zerno-Trade: + 44%

But the leader in terms of tonnage is still Trading House RIF: 23.87% of the total volume and 964,990 tons.

Among the main importing countries, Turkey handed over the palm to Egypt, but remained one of the largest buyers of grains and legumes, although it reduced volumes by 9.4% amid general growth.

On the other hand, Egypt switched a large part of its imports to Russia, having shipped 56.7% more than last year.

In general, Russian suppliers have exceeded the set plan for shipments of 5 million tons of grain and legumes.

Cleaning is coming to an end. At the beginning of October, wheat is threshed from 96% of the fields. Average yield is 30.4 centners per hectare.

For the current month, exporters set the bar at 5.5 million tons, while the introduction of quotas until the end of the year is not planned.
