China reaches record Ggrain harvest again

According to the latest data, this time the summer grain harvest in China reached 150 million tons, which is 2.5% more than last season.

Experts note that China has been collecting a record harvest for the second year in a row, and this is happening against the backdrop of not always favorable weather conditions and climate change.

China is currently successfully coping with these challenges thanks to the introduction of new technologies and automation.

All this allows, among other things, to increase the yield, and this is one of the most important indicators of agricultural efficiency.

In 2024, the grain yield was 5.6 tons per hectare, which is 2.5% more than in the previous year. Such data are cited by the Chinese news agency Xinhua.

«This summer, China achieved another record grain harvest, and the country’s total summer grain production increased by 2.5 percent compared to last year and reached 149.78 million tons, the National Bureau of Statistics reported on Friday,» notes Global Times journalist Hu Weijia.

Experts note that the increase in yields was made possible, among other things, by the widespread use of modern agricultural machinery, as well as software and the modernization of agricultural infrastructure.

In addition, extensive mechanization is taking place in rural areas of the country and breakthrough achievements in the field of selection.

All this makes it possible to grow more grain, including on lands that are initially poorly suited for this, such as deserts and salt marshes.

At the same time, one of the most important tasks that Chinese farmers and the country’s authorities set for themselves is to ensure food security.

Given the population of 1.4 billion people, this is very difficult to do, but China is confidently moving in this direction.

The total grain harvest that China is currently able to collect on its territory is impressive. We are talking about 695 million tons, and here too China is showing growth: this season the figure is 1.3% higher than the year before.

Taking all this into account, China can become a shining example for other countries.

Despite the numerous threats and challenges from climate change, it is not only skillfully resisting them with the help of mechanization and modern technologies, but is also constantly increasing the volume of agricultural production and its food security.

Advanced development in this area can become a guarantee that the country will be ready for climate change, and the level of well-being of citizens will not fall.
